In order to oversee merchants be booked accurately, the Taiwan Government runs this very clever idea by having raffles once every couple of months. We’re talking about hundreds of thousands of Taiwan dollars in here, if not millions. Don’t get too excited though, because the least amount of prize to be won is merely 200NT dollars. Well, that’s not bad at all, for at least you can use that amount to top-up your Easycard/Yoyo card or enough to buy yourself a couple of medium-sized lattès. =)
Never underestimate those eight digits, because one day, those might be the means that could lead you to a luxurious lifestyle? No one can ever foretell. Did you know that someone actually won 10 Million NT$ ( special prize-winning numbers) just by purchasing bottled water from a convenience store here in Taiwan? Another one was a train passenger who bought three lunchboxes (piyentang) worth 241 NT and eventually bagged-up 10 Million NT dollars!
Every 25th of the month, the Taiwan Lottery Receipt Draw takes place here in Taiwan and, you could possibly win 10 Million NT Dollars by simply collecting these valid receipts.

But to be specific though, these raffle draws only occur during odd months. It starts on the 1st month, 3rd month, 5th month, 7th, and all the way through the eleventh month.

TIP: For faster checking of winning receipts, list all the last three digits from the winning numbers, then work your way backwards.

So don’t just throw away those precious receipts if you’d want to bag up the Special Prize which is 10 Million NT dollars!
200 NT prize can be claimed at any 7-11/Family Mart convenience stores. That’d be spendable, which means you should purchase goods that are equivalent to the prize that you’ve won.
If you’re a foreigner, do not forget to bring your ARC with you, and please do note that the staff will be asking for a valid Taiwan mobile number.
Moreover, it is very important to note that you should head directly to Taiwan Cooperative Bank if you’ll win above 10 thousand NT dollars.

If you are having a hard time translating these characters then don’t hesitate to ask for assistance from the convenience store’s staff or in this case, Google Translate could be handy like I usually do, or I guess by everyone else.

Always bear in mind though, that in order for you to win, the winning numbers should be in EXACT ORDER, and needless to say, take care of those tiny papers. Keep them always in mint condition.
It’ll be tax-free in case you’ll win 1, 000 NT$ and below, and there will be 20% tax if ever you’ll hit 4, 000 NT$ and above.

TIP: Did you know that you can also transfer your winnings to your Yoyo/Easycard? You can do this at convenience stores such as Family Mart or 7-11. Just don’t hesitate to ask the staff.

Here’s another indispensable tip regarding EasyCard transactions for the Taiwan Lottery Receipt:
Have you bought something using your EasyCard? After purchase, the cashier then asks you if you would want to print your receipt or not. If you opt not to print it, then the receipt will just become virtual and will eventually be stored electronically instead. Now, to check your virtual receipts if you won something, just go to an ibon machine (in convenience stores) and just follow these steps:

- Click on「生活」(Shēnghuó / Life) the MAIN page.
- Click on 「電子發票」(Diànzǐ fāpiào / electronic invoice).
- Click on 「查詢中獎發票」(Cháxún zhòngjiǎng fāpiào / Query winning invoice).
- Click on 「悠遊卡」(Yōuyóu kǎ / Leisure card).
The screen will then tell you if you’ve won something from the Taiwan Lottery Receipt or not. Ask the staff for further assistance.
